EPPO Reporting Service (2011/076) : articles published in the Jordanian newspapers have indicated that T. absoluta is widespread and causing severe economic losses in tomato crops. However, this has not been confirmed by other sources.
The paper from Al-Jboory et al. (2012) confirms the presence of T. absoluta in Jordan where it was first caught in October 2009 (Southern Jordan Valley). Since then, it rapidly spread to all tomato-growing areas.
