Comments
A wilt disease was observed in commercial fields in the Marechal Floriano and Caxixe production regions in the highlands of Espirito Santo in 2000. Outbreaks were also observed in Caxixe region in 2006 and 2007. Fusarium oxysporum was consistently isolated from diseased lettuce plants but more studies are needed to determine the formae speciales of these Brazilian isolates (Cabral et al., 2008).

Further studies (Cabral et al., 2014) confirmed the presence of F. oxysporum f.sp. lactucae in diseased lettuce crops in several states (Distrito Federal, Espirito Santo, Minas Gerais, Parana, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Sao Paulo).
