Comments
See maps in EPPO Reporting Service 505/12. First observed in 1880. All Moroccan date palm oases are affected, except in Marrakech region, but this may be because the local soils are suppressive.
From country itself: Marrakech date palm oases free from pest. In vitro resistant cultivar production programme at Meknes.

EPPO Reporting Service (97/152): f.sp. canariensis, specific to Phoenix canariensis, has also been found in Morocco (1987).
