Comments
In 1992, the NPPO of Australia informed EPPO that D. destructor was present in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia and very restricted in Tasmania (recorded only once, in limited geographic area, in 1961). However, investigations demonstrated that all these records arose from taxonomic confusions with other Ditylenchus species or were simply erroneous. Specific surveys and general surveillance programmes have confirmed the absence of D. destructor (NPPO of Australia, 2008).

EPPO Reporting Service (2008/106) : denied record.

From NPPO (2011): the source record for Tasmania is not invalid (see Tasmania for more details) but surveys have confirmed that D. destructor no longer occurs in Tasmania (and therefore in Australia).
