EPPO Reporting Service (2018/215) : first specimens were caught in methyl-eugenol traps in 2 sites (Salerno and Napoli provinces) in Campania. Under official control.
From NPPO (2019): under eradication.
EPPO Reporting Service (2019/096) : Further surveys conducted. Official measures were taken to avoid any further spread. As of January 2019, no further specimens of B. dorsalis were caught in traps, nor found in fruit or soil samples.
EPPO Reporting Service (2019/228) : Surveys were intensified. Several specimens were trapped. It is considered that these findings are not linked to an outbreak.
From NPPO (2020): also trapped in two sites in Lazio (Roma – Loc. Fiorano, near Ciampino airport; Roma - near Bracciano Lake). Considered as interceptions.

EPPO Reporting Service (2022/211) : update on the outbreak in in Campania region: some adults emerged from fruits collected near traps. A demarcated area was established.
