 According to a US Data Sheet: Sumatra, Java especially Djakarta (Batavia), Moluccas especially Amboina and Halmahera, Sulawesi, Kalimantan and Timor. (This refers to B. dorsalis in the old sense).
According to CABI map 109, based on Drew & Hancock (1994), true B. dorsalis does not occur in Indonesia. Records refer to 2 other species, B. carambolae and B. papayae (q.v.).
