EPPO Reporting Service 504/02. Suspected infections found in 1970s (possibly severe attacks of Spiroplasma citri).

The presence of CTV was confirmed by Abukraa et al. (2009). The first cases were indeed reported by Nour-Eldin and Fudl-Allah in 1976, at the research sation of Al-Ftah University in Tripoli. Infected trees were destroyed, and for several years no further studies were made. Surveys were carried out in 2007, and CTV was detected in several areas (Zawia, Zahra, Tripoli, Grapolli and Sabha).
