Found in the 1940s in Corse only, and then no longer reported. Reports from Côte d'Azur are erroneous.

From the NPPO (2011): transient and under eradication in Corse.

From NPPO 2018: surveys conducted in 2013 in Corse showed that European strains of CTV are established in Haute-Corse and can no longer be eradicated. More recent surveys confirmed that the situation is stable and that only mild strains occur without causing economic impact. CTV has never been detected in Corse-du-Sud.
