First observed in the Çukurova area (Adana province - Mediterranean region) in 2000 on lemon and sour orange trees (Citrus limon and C. aurantium).
EPPO Reporting Service (2023/210) : following the first detection, eradication measures were taken and surveys were carried out in Adana and other citrus-producing provinces. CYVCV was no longer detected.
