Comments
Galls caused by Douglas fir needle midges (Contarinia spp.) were first found in 2022 in Douglas fir stands in Northern Switzerland, near the borders with France and Germany. Species identification of larvae is very difficult, and for the moment, it is supposed that C. pseudotsugae is present, but this would require further confirmation.
