Comments
Introduced. First recorded in Nova Scotia in 1949, but had probably been there for about 30 years. Spread to neighbouring provinces in about 15 years. Original impetus of outbreak slowed after introductiion of biological control agents.

New outbreak in 1976 on southern Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
