EPPO Global Database

Ceratitis rosa(CERTRO)

Distribution details in Syria

Situation
Current pest situation evaluated by EPPO on the basis of information dated 2018: Absent, unreliable record
First recorded in: 2017
Comments
EPPO Reporting Service (2018/090) : first found on Rosa damascena in Damascus during routine surveys on pests and diseases of roses carried out in 2017.

The above record is considered to be very doubtful, as C. rosa infests fruits and not flowers. In addition, it has never been recorded on Rosa sp. It is possibly a confusion with a Carpomya sp.
