Distribution details in Egypt
EPPO Reporting Service (2013/128) : this record is considered as doubtful. Egypt appears sometimes in distribution lists but without any clear source. M. pardalina is mentioned by Efflatoun (1924) with the following comment:
Up to the present this species is not indigenous to Egypt. Only 5 specimens are known (2 males and 3 females) in the Ministry of Agriculture's collection labelled "Tul Keram 9.8.1919, bred on Faqus." (Note: Tul Keram is located in Palestine - 'Faqus' ?).
In addition, no recent records could be found in the literature (as of June 2013).
