First isolated from a single Concord grapevine and designated as the NY strain of grapevine Bulgarian latent virus (Uyemoto et al., 1977), although the later is now considered to be a distinct species (Elbeaino et al., 2011). Nevertheless, this NY strain was shown to be a strain of blueberry leaf mottle virus virus (Ramsdell & Stace-Smith, 1981).
