Bean golden mosaic virus (BGMV, now Begomovirus costai) and bean golden yellow mosaic virus (BGYMV, now Begomovirus birdi) were separated in the 1990s. Literature prior to this separation considered all records as bean golden mosaic virus (including the EPPO/CABI Data Sheet, 1997). Literature prior to the separation of bean golden mosaic virus and bean golden yellow mosaic virus considered all records as bean golden mosaic virus (including in the EPPO/CABI Data Sheet, 1997). The reference previously used to justify the record for this country (below) refers only to bean golden yellow mosaic virus (Begomovirus birdi). No reference for Cuba was found in the literature (2025-11).
