EPPO Reporting Service 507/11 (1990): the CABI map 284 (edition of June 1986) was erroneoulsy recording B. tabaci as present, in 1990 it was declared absent by the Portuguese NPPO (EU protected zone status for European populations).
EPPO Reporting Service (1996/112) : first found on tomato crops in Algarve region of southern Portugal, associated with TYLCV.
EPPO Reporting Service (1997/155) : biotype B found in a survey of Bemisia tabaci populations in the south (Algarve).
EPPO Reporting Service (2008/228) : detected in July 2005 in tomato fields near Campo Maior (Alentejo region), associated with TYLCV and ToCV.
