EPPO Reporting Service (500/08): limited distribution and subject to internal regulations. First found in 1987 on Euphorbia pulcherrima. Only few infestations known after eradication programme, these nurseries being under official control.
EPPO Reporting Service (1995/142) : a compilation of records from various sources. Officially confirmed to be widespread, but only in glasshouses.
In the 1990s found to be widespread, and mainly biotype B.
According to report at EPPO Conference in Pruhonice (1998), the European populations are no longer considered to be of phytosanitary importance. Measures are taken against non-European populations, however, because of the risk of exotic geminiviruses.
