EPPO Global Database

Avsunviroid albamaculaperseae(ASBVD0)

Distribution details in Costa Rica

Situation
Current pest situation evaluated by EPPO on the basis of information dated 2019: Absent, unreliable record
Comments
ASBVd was listed as present in Costa Rica in a book chapter (Semancik, 2003). However, the reference cited (Vargas et al., 1991) did not refer to Costa Rica but to Peru, and no other supporting evidence could be found. In addition, the NPPO of Costa Rica has carried out specific surveys for ASBVd and all gave negative results. Therefore, the record of ASBVd is now considered to be unreliable.
