EPPO Reporting Service (2012/221) : an unknown disease of sugar beet was reported in 2005 in Hungary. Symptoms resembled those of the disease called ‘syndrome des basses richesses’ described in France. Laboratory analysis revealed the presence of bacterium-like organisms (BLO) in the phloem of diseased plants.
This record made in 2005 suggests that 'Candidatus Arsenophonus phytopathogenicus' might occur in Hungary but this remains to be confirmed.
