Found in 2011 in 1 commercial cocoa plantation near Port Douglas, Queensland. The outbreak is isolated to this property where 2,400 cocoa trees are under cultivation. Under eradication.

In January 2014, Australia reported the sucessful eradication of the pest from its territory.
