EPPO Global Database

Comovirus andesense(APMOV0)

Distribution details in Nicaragua

Situation
Current pest situation evaluated by EPPO on the basis of information dated 2022: Absent, invalid record
From CABI Disease map 773 (1999): Present, no details
Comments
Although a virus isolated from tabasco pepper (Capsicum frutescens) from Honduras and Nicaragua was reported as a new serotype of APMoV, molecular studies (analysis of several sequences) suggested that this was a new virus for which the name pepper mild mosaic virus was proposed (not approved by ICTV as of 2022).
