Anastrepha fraterculus(ANSTFR)
Distribution details in United States of America
Current pest situation evaluated by EPPO on the basis of information dated
1994: Present, restricted distribution
From NPPO: Absent, invalid record
Although QPE indicates that this pest occurs in Southern Texas (Rio Grande valley), this may be an error, since USDA has informed EPPO that Anastrepha fraterculus does not occur in USA. PNKTO no 18 explains that the records in Texas are of a distinct form of the species, with different host preferences and possibly morphology. However, it still seems that this is A. fraterculus, unless a new species has since been described.
