EPPO Reporting Service (2008/157) : discovered in August 2008 on trees in a private garden in Worcester (Worcester county), under eradication.
Other findings were then made in other localities. In 2014, eradication was achieved in Suffolk and Norfolk counties but is continuing in Boston and Brookline.
NPPO (2025): removing 12.3 square miles from the Asian longhorned beetle (Anoplophora glabripennis; ALB) quarantined area in Worcester County, Massachusetts. The area consists of the Town of Holden.
2026: quarantine removed in Shrewsbury. Worcester County’s ALB quarantine zone (75.75 sq miles) now includes the City of Worcester, the Towns of Boylston and West Boylston, and a portion of the Town of Auburn.
