First found in the 2000s, on samples of lemon leaves but at that time the infested tree was destroyed and th pest was considered eradicated. In 2019, the pest was found again the suburbs of Amman , as well as in July 2022 in the Al Salt area on citrus trees. The pest status is still under investigation
