Ailanthus altissima was recorded in 2013 in two apple orchards in Turkey, growing next to apple trees in the Iğdir province. The plant has initially been planted as an ornamental and forestation tree in the Iğdir province as well as in other locations in Turkey. A. altissima is present in many parts of Turkey.
