DAISIE project: the European Alien Species Expertise Registry
Searching expertise and making contacts worldwide is particularly relevant to tackle the topic of invasive alien species. Within the EU project DAISIE, the European Alien Species Expertise Registry collects the expertise of experts worldwide on alien species that are already present in Europe or may be introduced. The expertise registry contains details on more than 1500 experts from 90 countries with respect to taxonomic expertise, geographical units, and thematic areas (such as distribution, conservation, restoration, ecology, economical impact, genetics, legislation, administration, management, control, pathways, transportation, physiology, and risk assessment), and for more than 3000 taxa.
Any expert can register freely and easily at www.europe-aliens.org.
