Tomato mottle mosaic virus no longer occurs in the Netherlands
Tomato mottle mosaic virus (Tobamovirus maculatessellati, ToMMV – formerly EPPO Alert List) was first reported in the Netherlands on seeds of Solanum lycopersicum in 2022 (EPPO RS 2022/168) as well as in seed collections on seed produced in 2007 (RS 2023/095). Apart from the above record from 2022, the virus has never been linked to any cultivation in the Netherlands. ToMMV has never been recorded during official annual surveys in tomato and Capsicum crops.
The pest status of ToMMV in the Netherlands is officially declared as: Absent, pest no longer present, confirmed by official surveys.
