First report of cucurbit yellow stunting disorder virus in Java, Indonesia
Cucurbit yellow stunting disorder virus (Crinivirus cucurbitae, CYSDV – EPPO A2 List) is first reported from Indonesia. In 2023, melon (Cucumis melo) plants showing virus-like symptoms including interveinal yellowing and chlorosis were observed in open fields in Kediri District (East Java province, Western Indonesia region). The identity of the pathogen was confirmed by molecular testing. Co-infection with Cucumis melo alphaendornavirus (Alphaendornavirus cucumis, CmEV) was also reported.
