First report of Curtobacterium flaccumfaciens pv. flaccumfaciens in Croatia
The NPPO of Croatia recently informed the EPPO Secretariat of the first finding of Curtobacterium flaccumfaciens pv. flaccumfaciens (EPPO A2 List) on its territory.
As part of sampling for the National Surveillance Programme for 2026, the pest was detected in common bean plants (Phaseolus vulgaris) in a small field (0.6 ha) in the town of Našice (Osječko-baranjska županija county, Panonska Hrvatska region) in June 2026. The bacterium was identified by molecular testing in August 2026. The source of the outbreak is unknown.
The pest status of Curtobacterium flaccumfaciens pv. flaccumfaciens in Croatia is officially declared as: Present, under eradication.
