Update on the situation of Anoplophora chinensis in Croatia

In Croatia, Anoplophora chinensis (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae – EPPO A2 List) was first found in 2007 in Turanj (EPPO RS 2009/047). Since then, several outbreaks have been found in Zadar county (Sveti Filip I Jakov, Turanj and Biograd na Moru) and well as in Zagreb county (Rugvica) (RS 2015/066, RS 2020/219, RS 2022/124, RS 2026/262). Eradication measures are applied for each outbreak.

As part of the official survey in the demarcated area of Biograd na Mor (Zadar County), five adult A. chinensis were caught in two traps at the end of June 2026 in a mixed Pinus halepensis forest. Damage from bitemarks was reported on Carpinus trees. Eradication measures will continue.
