Eradication of Grapevine flavescence dorée phytoplasma in Germany
In Germany, Grapevine flavescence dorée phytoplasma (EPPO A2 List) was found in one plant (Vitis vinifera) in a vineyard in Rheinland-Pfalz at the end of 2020 (EPPO RS 2021/040). Official phytosanitary eradication measures have been taken and the complete vineyard (6580 m2, 3000 plants) has been destroyed. Follow-up surveys in the area did not detect the phytoplasma or the vector Scaphoideus titanus. The outbreak is considered eradicated.
The pest status of Grapevine flavescence dorée phytoplasma in Germany is officially declared as: Absent, pest eradicated.
