First report of Ips duplicatus in Slovenia
The NPPO of Slovenia recently informed the EPPO Secretariat of the first finding of Ips duplicatus (Coleoptera: Scolytidae - EU Annexes) on its territory. One beetle was caught in a pheromone trap specific to Ips typographus (Coleoptera: Scolytidae - EU Annexes). The trap was placed in a forest in the Central Slovenia region (municipality of Komenda). In the wider surroundings of the site where the pest was found, traps for Ips typographus will be analysed also for possible catches of Ips duplicatus.
The pest status of Ips duplicatus in Slovenia is officially declared as: Present, at low prevalence.
