Eradication of fireblight in Poland
Fireblight has not been observed in Poland during 1972 and 1973, despite intense inspections and is considered to be eradicated by now.
It appears that the policy of repeated surveys and rapid destruction of infected plants is sufficient under the conditions prevailing in Poland.
In 1974 the surveys will be continued mainly in the security zone, which had been established in Northern Poland, as previously reported (cf. EPPO Reporting Service Ref. 72/2 - 360 RSE of 25.2.1972).
