Report on Fireblight in France
The French Plant Protection Service announced on 10 August, 1978 that a sample taken from a pear tree in an orchard located in the vicinity of DAX (département des Landes, SW of France) was found to be infected with fireblight. The identification has been made by the French Agricultural Research Institute at Angers.
The extent of the contamination is currently under investigation.
