Import of fireblight hosts
Notice n°24 of the Swiss Federal Bureau of Agriculture (28 Sep 1981) replaces Notice n°12 (27 Dec 1971) and extends the list of fireblight host genera by the addition of Chaenomeles.
The following genera are accordingly now prohibited (as from 5 Oct 1981):
Chaenomeles
Cotoneaster
Crataegus
Cydonia
Malus
Pyracantha
Pyrus
Sorbus
Stranvaesia
This decision is based on the recent discovery of infected Chaenomeles in southern Germany.
