Sharka virus in Denmark
In September 1986, attacks of Sharka virus were recorded in a 4-year-old experimental plum plantation on the Island of Fyn. The disease was found in 8 varieties but it has not yet been possible to determine the source of infection. In order to prevent further spread all the trees in the plantation are being cleared away.
