Review on Prostephanus truncatus
The EPPO Working Party on Phytosanitary Regulations considered this pest of stored maize of Central American origin, as a potential quarantine threat for the EPPO region but finally decided it did not present a specific risk to European and Mediterranean countries. The Working Party recognized, however, the great threat presented to African countries and probably also to tropical Asia, and felt that EPPO, countries should be aware of the risk presented by this species in consignments of stored products in international trade.
