A2 quarantine bacteria in Italy


An article by Bazzi, Minardi and Mazzuchi in Informatore Fitopatologico reviews the status in Italy of several bacteria which are A2 quarantine pests. Erwinia chrysanthemi (pathovar uncertain) is noted on Aechmea and Saintpaulia, while specific pathovars are confirmed as follows (pv. dieffenbachiae on Dieffenbachia, pv. dianthicola on carnation pv. chrysanthemi on florist's chrysanthemum and on Chrysanthemum maximum). Pseudomonas caryophylli is confirmed on carnation.
