Bemisia tabaci found in Sweden
A survey conducted in autumn 1987 primarily in Southern Sweden demonstrated that B. tabaci was widespread on poinsettia (Euphorbia pulcherrima) in greenhouses; it was found in 18 out of 2" commercial enterprises sampled; in 6 cases it occurred with Trialeurodes vaporariorum. So far poinsettia is the only host for B. tabaci recorded in Sweden. Damage is not severe, presumably due to effective chemical treatment and to reduced insect development during the cold winter months.
