Announcement of two symposia on biological control
Two symposia on biological control are being sponsored by the North American Plant Protection Organization. The first symposium will be held at Riverside (California, USA) on 27-30 March 1989 and will review the history, assess the present, and evaluate the future roles of biological control in pest management. The second symposium, to be held at McAllen (Texas, USA) on 4-6 April 1989, will focus on the implementation of biological control with emphasis on applied aspects.
Both symposia are being organized to commemorate the centennial of the introduction of Rodalla·cardinalis into N. America to control Icerya purchasi.
