Beet Necrotic Yellow Vein Virus found on farm in UK
Beet necrotic yellow vein virus (the pathogen causing sugarbeet rhizomania) has been found for the first time in the UK on one farm in Suffolk.
All necessary measures are being taken to prevent spread and intensive surveys have been made covering more than 12,000 hectares to verify the absence of any other outbreaks. Surveys will continue next season.
