Four new countries have accepted the Amendments to the International Plant Protection convention


The EPPO Reporting Service n°506/0l presented the list of the countries which have signed the International Plant Protection Convention. Since then, four additional countries have accepted the amendments introduced in 1979:

               Mauritius
               New Zealand
               Tunisia
               Yemen Arab Republic

Now 5 EPPO countries have signed the original Convention but have not accepted its amendments:

               Austria
               Greece
               Italy
               Malta
               Portugal

The list of EPPO countries which have not signed the Convention is not modified (Bulgaria, Cyprus, Poland, Switzerland).        At present 95 states are parties to the Convention and instruments of acceptance of the amendments have been received from 54 Contracting Governments.
