Presence of Frankliniella occidentalis in Portugal


The Plant Protection Service of Portugal has recently reported infestation of Frankliniella occidentalis in the north and in the south of the country, in glasshouses on Gerbera, Roses, certain other horticultural crops and on strawberries. Infestation was also found on strawberries in the field. Intensive treatments were carried out in contaminated glasshouses and heavily attacked plants have been destroyed in order to avoid the establishment of this pest in Portugal.
