Absence of grapevine flavescence dorée MLO from Neareastern countries
Report RAB/86/018 of UNDP/FAO on 'Fruit Crop Sanitation in the Mediterranean and Near East Region - status and requirements' reviews the status of various virus and 'virus-like' diseases of grapevine in Neareastern countries (especially fanleaf, rugose wood, leafroll, enation, fleck, stem pitting). The report, prepared by Prof. Martelli, Bari (IT), covers Albania, Algeria, Cyprus, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia and Turkey. No indications of infection of grapevine by MLOs or Xylem-limited bacteria were found in any of these countries. Thus, grapevine flavescence dorée MLO (EPPO A2 list) is not recorded from them.
