Distribution of Xanthomonas fragariae
A report of the interception of Xanthomonas fragariae on strawberry plants from Spain to Portugal draws our attention to the presence of this A2 pest in Spain. Its occurrence in Spain was reported by Lopez et al (1986) but was not included in the Data Sheet on the organism (Bulletin OEPP/EPPO Bulletin 16, 1.7-20, (1986).
X. fragariae has also been recorded in Romania, being first detected in a strawberry nursery in 1980 (Severin et al, 1985).
