Technical guidelines for the safe movement of germplasm
In 1989, FAO, together with IBPGR (International Board for Plant Genetic Resources) have published the first of a series of technical guidelines for the safe movement of germplasm. The first two concern Musa and cocoa. They include general recommendations on the movement of germplasm material, a list of intermediate quarantine stations, and a review of the most important quarantine pests of each crop with details on the symptoms caused, geographical distribution, biology and quarantine measures. Further guidelines will follow.
