Ceratitis capitata not present in Belgium
According to Reporting service 510/12, Belgium was included in the list of countries where Ceratitis capitata has been reported (information from FAO). This is an error! The Belgian Plant Protection Service has informed the EPPO secretariat that the medfly has never occurred in the country. It has, however, been intercepted on imports in past years, which may have led to the incorrect supposition that the pest actually entered the country.
