New host for tomato spotted wilt virus


In the USA experiments revealed that tomato spotted wilt virus (candidate EPPO A2 organism) can infect peppermint (Mentha x piperita). A natural infected peppermint plant was found in a greenhouse in Oregon.
The plant was infected by the impatiens serotype of TSWV.
