Puccinia horiana occurs locally in USA

was reported at the NAPPO Annual Meeting (Guadalajara, MX, 1990-10) that Puccinia horiana (EPPO A2 list) is now present locally in the USA, in the states of Oregon and Washington.

Newest information, however, reports the disease as eradicated from these states. All known infected chrysanthemums were traced back to a garden club where hobbyists traded plants. Commercial facilities were not involved. Surveys will continue throughout the coming growing season to validate eradication or detect new infections.
