Palm lethal yellowing MLO in Central America
Palm lethal yellowing MLO (EPPO A1 list) was reported at the NAPPO Annual Meeting to be widespread in the state of Yucatan (MX), affecting half a million palms. Reports from other states are unconfirmed.
A survey in the other main coconut-producing areas of Central America (not including Nicaragua) did not show the presence of the pest. However, its vector (Myndus crudus) is widespread.
